Last chance to upgrade passes on Cisco M4 servers

Cisco partners have one last chance to contact their customers who are still running UCS M4 data centre servers about upgrading before the end-of-support deadline for the system comes around in February 2024.

► Various options open for customers to upgrade

► EoS deadline fast approaching on 1 February

As well as being a good sales opportunity, it’s also important for customers to understand that their hardware won’t be covered by upgrades or support after this time, said Sean Chalker, business development manager, Cisco data centre, UK, at TD SYNNEX.

‘Support on USC M4 servers ends on 1 February 2024 and it’s important to make sure that customers realise that and understand what it means. Where those servers are supporting critical infrastructure and applications, they need to take immediate action. Also, in certain parts of the public sector, they will no longer be compliant with regulation and these customers will be double-compelled to act.’

TD SYNNEX can support partners in navigating the options and presenting them to customers, he noted. ‘There are various routes that customers can take with respect to upgrades – including Cisco Refresh options, which provide fully refurbished and warranty-covered equipment at a lower cost than brand new products. We can also now ship these from UK-based stock, so partners are in a much better position to meet customer needs without delay.’
